Tin Can Timepieces: Built in the U.S. by an Active Duty Navy Submariner

With our USA 250 Collection, we want to highlight Tin Can Timepieces, a U.S.-made watch brand built by an active-duty Navy submariner, because it reflects the values of American craftsmanship, heritage, and service-driven design.

Built from Life Inside the Navy

Tin Can Timepieces is not a traditional watch company.

It was started by an active-duty U.S. Navy submariner who began building watches directly out of necessity while serving at sea.

The early work came from a very specific challenge: standard watch manufacturers were not able to support small, custom orders for submarine crews. Instead of outsourcing the solution, he began designing and building the watches himself.

What started as a functional response to a real operational need became the foundation of a microbrand.

A One-Person Operation

Today, Tin Can Timepieces remains a deeply personal project, designed and assembled by a single individual while he continues to serve on active duty in the U.S. Navy. Every watch is directly connected to the founder’s own experience, work, and time in service.

Why This Brand Stands Out

Tin Can Timepieces stands out because it is:

  • made in the United States
  • built by an active-duty submariner
  • created directly from real operational and service experience

It represents a rare combination of American manufacturing, military service, and hands-on watchmaking.

Supporting Veterans

As part of the USA 250 Anniversary Collection, 10% of all proceeds will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project to support veterans and their families. This donation is a direct way of tying the collection back to the people and service members it is meant to honor, ensuring the release gives back to the community it represents while also celebrating American history through craftsmanship.

Final Word

Tin Can Timepieces reflects a side of watchmaking that is deeply rooted in service, American production, and personal craftsmanship—built directly by someone still living that experience today.
