The Power of Red Watch Straps: A Bold Choice for Watch Enthusiasts
In the world of horology, watch enthusiasts often seek ways to make a statement with their timepieces. While the watch itself plays a significant role in this endeavor, the choice of watch strap can also be a powerful tool for self-expression. One color that has consistently captured the attention of watch aficionados is red. Vibrant, bold, and eye-catching, red watch straps have the unique ability to transform a watch's appearance and convey a sense of confidence and individuality.
The Signature Style of Mr. Wonderful
One prominent figure who has made red watch straps his signature style is Kevin O'Leary, famously known as "Mr. Wonderful" from the TV show Shark Tank. Mr. Wonderful's penchant for red watch straps reflects his bold and confident personality. It's a choice that sets him apart and adds a touch of flair to his wrist. Much like a red carpet at a premiere, red watch straps demand attention and exude a sense of importance.
The Allure of Red
So, what is it about red watch straps that make them so appealing? Here are a few reasons:
1. Vibrancy and Visibility
Red is a color that naturally draws the eye. When you wear a red watch strap, you can be sure that your timepiece will not go unnoticed. It's a color that symbolizes energy, passion, and excitement, making it an excellent choice for those who want to make a bold statement.
2. Versatility
While red may be associated with boldness, it's surprisingly versatile when it comes to pairing with different outfits and occasions. A red watch strap can add a pop of color to a casual ensemble or complement a formal look, making it suitable for a variety of situations.
3. Confidence Booster
Wearing a red watch strap can boost your confidence. It's a color that exudes self-assuredness and can serve as a reminder to embrace your uniqueness. When you wear red, you're saying, "I'm here, and I'm making my mark."

I was tired of previously owning timepieces that had either black or brown leather straps that were from alligator to cowhide and from crocodile to ostrich. I am down to one watch, at the moment of writing this post.
My 1998-2000 Breitling Colt Automatic Chronograph ref. A13035.1 in stainless steel has the 20mm Hirsch Corse red leather strap with the Breitling buckle attached. The red leather strap compliments the black dial with the three totalizers in silver and it brings out the red tipped chronograph hand.
The watch previously was worn with the 20mm Hirsch Artisan black leather strap, but it made it looking like any other men’s chronograph watch on the market. I am not a tall man, measuring at 5’4 and 138 lbs. As a former watch collector, any timepiece with a red leather strap is to be strand out from the crowd.
